Mend Brother Sewing Machine Foot Pedal Motor

old Brother sewing machine flywheel is stuck?

I have a very (15+years) old Brother sewing machine that has not been used in several years. Now when I tried to use it, the motor runs (when i step on the foot pedal), but nothing will move and the flywheel seems stuck.

Any suggestions

Hello Peggy,
First of all take out thye bobbin case and drop the gate down and take out the half moon shape, make sure there is no thread stuck in there, see if you can turn the balance wheel with those parts out, you should be able to, oil the machine with WD40 and unless anything drastic has gone wrong the machine should be okay.
