I have had an engineer out to fix my boiler and he says that it needs a new PCB and that the cost would exceed 250.00. is this normal, if not could i fix it myself if i self sourced my parts. ? seen new spares for less than 140.00? any help would be great.

you may not have a pcb fault. it may be your control kit box bnib part no 173533 you can get one on line for about £50 + vat and are very easy to fit try keeptheheaton.com

Im not going to say wether I think the price is excessive as I believe your paying for his diagnosis aswell as the part fitting etc. But the PCB is very easy to fit and can be installed in 5mins.
