Mend Ford Fiesta 1.2 Zetec Fuel Petrol

excess fuel consumption,ford fiesta zetec?

ford fiesta 1.2 zetec,using petrol up really quick and when you get out of it,it sometimes smells really strongly of fuel.it's only a 1.2 engine and we getting through 25-30 pounds worth of petrol in a week and only getting 150-170 miles.HELP!

a common problem is corrosion to the fuel filter. if it is very rusty, it may have a pin hole & will leak. they can be bought for £5 - £10

The smell and the poor consumption together suggest a leak - perhaps a garage will be able to solve it for you.
