Hotpoint tumble drier not drying clothes?

My hotpoint acquarius tumble drier CDT00 drier is not drying. Although the tumbler is working, it appears the heater is not working. i have cleaned all filters etc, so it appears to be the thermostat or the heating element.
Are they easy to change?
