binatone g500 sat nav?

have just purchased the above cannot get any contact from binatone, the speed camera warning is only working visual not audio as stated in manual it should give warning beep it is switched on

The camera warning bleep only operates when you have a route set, i.e. the lady is telling you where to go. It doesn't work in ordinary "View Map" mode.
