My Powercraft 720 fuel tap also broke. I took off the tank then with access to the on/off tap i cut a screwdriver slot in the tap so i could turn it on/off with a screwdriver. Problem solved.
I would like to get a new tap but i cant find any details for spares anywhere. The 720 version is replaced by the 850w so the part should be the same, but where do you buy one ??????

Don't bother calling the helpline, they are of no use at all. Don't know who made the generator, don't know where to get parts. In fact they don't know anything of any use at all. "Check on the Internet," she said. If you have the original receipt, the store where you bought it might be able to help. End of useless and expensive 'phone call - I was calling from France, and got a five minute music-hold as well!

I've just had the same problem - the lever is too weak. Mine is stuck open so I suppose I'll leave it that way.
