isolate the mains water supply, drain heating system, remove large white front cover, remone floor panel beneath boiler (if fitted) remove 2 screws holding up control panel and allow to hinge down.
once the panel is laying horizontal cover the panel with plasic sheet or bin liner to prevent any water from entering the control box once the exchanger comes away. remove large flat screw rh side of exchanger an pull out u shaped clip.at the rear of exchanger undo large brass unoin holdin exch to diverter valve, now pull towards you, other 2 connections are push fit o rings, assemble in reverse order ensuring that fibre washer and o rings are renewed.reinstate mains water and repressurise.

Hi when you say the pressure gauge do you mean the one on the front of the unit? If so I had a problem were it used to take ages to show the change when I filled it or let any water out. Well in the end I got so feed up I quickly release it from it holder on the boiler by the U shapped clip...I was expecting water to come flying out of the small hole...behind the the gold plugin bit of the gauge on the coiled pipe...However it didnt...
I then got a needle and cleared the blockage which was in the bit the gauge plugs into.. It had ether rust or had furred up. A word of warning...when you do clear it make sure one your not looking into it and two that its got so much prssure behind it that the water flew past me and hit the wall 2 meters away... I pushed the gauge it back in the hole as soon as I could reseated the U clip to hold it in and now I have a working guage. It doesnt take 20 mins to change ether way now it does it straight away. Hope this helps.

After having the expansion vessel changed due to pressure gauge keep rising we still can't stablise the pressure gauge. We have spoken to Worcester helpline and they have advised if there are no leaks then it is very likely the heat exchanger.
