I was going down the road and my gilera dna 125 and it just cut out on me. it turns over very quickly and is sucking and blowing through the exhaust, is there a timing belt on thease things or any recent ring problems on a bike thats only done two thousand miles?
thanx for that am going to open it up tomorrow so will find out for sure. I will be shocked if its a dropped valve because there was no strange noises comming from the cylender well i hope not. is it posible to put a 180 kit on it if it even exists while its all in bits?

p.s you would of course need to fit a piston from a 2 valve leader engine as well as the 2 valve head for it to work and set the cam sprocket to the 2 valve timing mark when setting the timing up.

lol bb ,see i said the 2 valvers were the best ,to hell with speed , 2 valve reliability has alot to be said for it.ps if its sucking and blowing out of the exhaust like you say jamie then its def dropped an exhaust valve.jamie if you wanna sell it let me know !ps i bet you were giving it a hiding when it did it ?this bounces the valves out of the seats and lets the collets drop out.

LOL adam... I found out about 2 valve heads yesterday and the ET4 is a 2 valver. Adam will alas be right... sorry.

ohhhhhhh dear she has dropped a valve,damn those four valve heads.unfortunately these are prone to this along with other models such as runner vx's piaggio skipper st's and beverly 125's .it will be very expensive to fix this with new parts.take the plug out and have a look at the end of it ,is it all battered to death?if so it usually wrecks the piston/barrel/head/all the valves and sometimes the con rod or crankcase where the cam chain tensioner sits.ask bb for a nice 2 valve head off his et4 :) this will fit it.

I would say you have blown something up. No timing belt but even if it went then you wuld of wrecked pistons.valves. rings etc. Top end strip time I would suggest.
