focus wont start?

I have a y reg focus that will not start the key fob will open the doors the ignition lights come on but on the last turn off the key nothing happens.There is a flashing light above the clock. I have changed the ring around the key barrel. Changed the battery in the fob. I can hear the petrol pump kick in.
