Mend Renault Megane Convertible Power Told

what could it be?

i have a renault megan convertible and i love it but when it gets warm it loses nearly all its power i was told it was knock sensor it wasnt its a 2001 model 2 litre i am desperate to get it back but the problem has got so bad i cant drive it anymore it starts first time every time but as soon as it warms up its like it dies help

could be coolent temp switch m 8 if the ecu thinks the engine is still cold then the fan wont come in and the fuel mixture will still be too rich this might cause the engine to be flooded with fuel only a guess m8 but u sound stuck it might be worth checking it out
