How can I repair the speedo cable on an Aprilia Habana Custom 125?

Hi All,

The speedo cable has snapped at the wheel. There is a small amount of the wiring within the speedo housing attached to wheel.

I have the replacement cable which should be quite easy to attach. However, the problem I am having is removing this small amount of cable.

Is it attached to anything within this housing? I tried to search for a screw or something holding it in place but found nothing. Short of taking the wheel off, is there anything else I can do?

this can be a bit of a git,i would soak the entire speedo drive in some penetrating oil or similar thn try to hold it with some good pliers and pull it out ,there is a small roll pin in the side in the side of the speedo drive that holds the pinion in that the cable is stcuk in bit its not easy to get out.you will ned to take the front wheel out enough to release the drive from the side of it.
