what barrel do i buy for a gilera cougar and how do i change it ?

hi i own a gilera cougar and have lost my key and need to change my barrel, i have found a barell which i suspect to be the same barrel and was wandering if anyone can confim it and also tell me how i change the barrel.

the barrell i have found is at

http://beedspeed.com/product_info.php?cPath=115&products_id=3848

this is for a vespa made by the same company with identical keys

any help will be greatly apprecieated as at the moment i am bypassing the key alltogether which is far from ideal.

yes bob there is a set of sliding tumblers in the barrel and the last one is the one that holds the barrel into the lock, when you get the new barrels you will see what i mean, this last one is the one you need to push inwards to pull the barrel out.i have seen people drill small holes in the locks before to get access to push the tumbler in to get the barrel out if there is no other way to get to it.just a pointer on the coguar 125 check the swinging arm bushes they are usually worn as the standard bushes are prone to premature wear simply hold the rear wheel and in the other hand hold onto a grab rail and rock them in opposite directions to see how bad the play is.There are some on ebay alot cheaper then the shops if you need some.good luck with it all, adam.

thanks for the quick reply, really appreciate it. am a bit of a noob but am learning fast

the link wont work it'd have to be a cut and paste jobby (not to good with html) but thats enough info because it looks the same. i had the linkage joining the two keys that is the same with zadi on it :) and its only a fiver. cheers for the help. will get it ordered. I read previous requests on barrell changing and it sounds easy enough. i guess its the same process more or less, is that correct ?

the link doesnt work for me?but im sure its the same as a piaggio typhoon/nrg/dna they all use the smaller barreled 'zadi' locks.
