Mend Briggs & Stratton 10HP Engine Fuel Generator

B&S 10 hp runs only with full choke?

The engine will run fine with full choke. When moved from choke the engine shuts down immediately. The motor hasn't been started in 2 years and the fuel petcock was left on. This is a late model engine running a generator. Thank You.

Briggs & Stratton Briggs & Stratton 10HP Garden Tools, Lawn Mowers Engine Fuel Generator

The carb most likely has varnished from old fuel.
It will need to be taken apart and cleaned or rebuilt.
Rebuild kits are available from any small engine shop.
Just be sure to have your engine Model/Type/and Code numbers with you.
