Mend Ford Brakes Brake

how do I correctly bleed my brakes on my 1996 ford taurus stationwagon?

I replaced my rear brake pads on my 1996 ford taurus stationwagon.I had trouble screwing the cylinder back in,so I took it off,let the fluid drain out of the well, and screwed the cylinder back in and proceeded to bleed the brakes,I did that for about 45 minutes, and I still don't have brake pedal, waht can I do next,to resolve this problem,I can't afford to bring it to a shop.

You didnt say if you were using a brake bleed kit or not. I will assume you arent. It's best to have two people. Top up your resevoir then have someone hold steady firm pressure on the pedal while you crack open the bleed screw. Make sure to have a little hose from the end of the screw to a little can with fluid in it so it wont allow air back in. Do one side at a time as many times as it takes to get ALL the air out. If the pedal bottoms out without you seeing fluid then retighten screw, top up resevoir again and have your partner take another press on the pedal. Keep doing it till you see fluid (clear hose).Tighten it and move to the other side and repeat.
