Mend Ford Air Pump Rid

air conditioning pump sqeeling!?

air conditioning pump is constantly sqeeling, i keep putting oil on it that gets rid of it for about a mile then the noise comes back again ! its driving me nuts! how do i rid myself of this ? new pump, new bearing if i can get, or just beat it with a big stick ? ford focus 1.8 td 2000 model ! ( my wife just turns the radio up)

are you sure it's the pump itself and not the drive belt check the tension and the belt condition first, when was the system last charged ? get it checked to see if the compressor needs oil in it ?if it's short of oil it could seize up failing that beat it with a big stick or get a louder radio
