How to repair cracks in this type of wall?

My neighbour has just had her bungalow decorated.
The internal, stud, walls are made of a straw type construction, which is then covered with plasterboard.
Although she has just had her walls decorated, some of the previous cracks have now started to reappear, as well as cracks between these wall tops and the ceiling. Is there any way at all, to stop such cracks reappearing, AND, what type of wallpaper would be best applied to hide such cracks. ALSO
Is there any material, that the cracks could be filled in with, which would prove strong enough AND flexible enough to repair such cracks.

if the wall is old u must rake out cracks with screwdriver or corner of scraper .then dust of and fill with tetrion pollyfiller and sand down/if cracks are in corners it is best to use decoraters caulk which comes in a tube that fits into a mastic gun.sqeeze trigger on mastic gun and caulk will come out move along crack and then smooth of with finger for best results,you can use a damp sponge if u like for this ,new walls do the same.on old walls when i have repaired them i have lined them with lining paper this stops cracking later.hope this as help you.
