Fitting a replacement keypad for Accenta 8ep 416?

I'm trying to wire a new keypad for the alarm..I've put the wires in the correct place but the keypad is dead.It is not adjacent to the alarm.Any ideas?

Thanks very much for that info.If I take the front of the main panel off,will it set the alarm off? If the alarm does go off how do I switch it off with the keypad being dead.Also, do you know how many fuses there are in the box

You've 'shorted' something and blown an internal fuse at the control panel.

If you go down the route of finding and replacing the fuse, ONLY REPLACE LIKE FOR LIKE, DO NOT USE ONE OF A DIFFERENT SIZE / RATING. Maplin is a good place to find the correct one.

Don't forget that there is 240v mains electricity inside the box, go carefully.
