What is wrong with my gilera runner Vx 125?

Hi, just re built a gilera runner 125 (new crank bearings seals etc) we have disconnected the oil pump and now use premix. The engine starts fine for 5 mins then stops and feels quite tight to turn over even with no plug, could this be as simple as too much 2 stroke making it sticky? The crank is dead centre and the bore is smooth, we have also taken the guts out of the thermostat as I think they were stuck the engine is not heating up anywhere near as quickly now.

your starter motor is lazy its mitsuba sits on the top of the engine! not powerful enough to thro the bendix gear out , when you pelace it clean the bendix gear also

ok if when you mess about with the relay it starts to work then i think its more then likely faulty but......take the two big red wires off the relay ,they will just pull off but may be tighten get a split pin and pull it apart a bit and push the wires onto each end of the split pin and see if it turns over fast,if its ok and sounds like it did before it started to play up then the rlay is probably at fault if it turns over slowly still then the battery is flat or the starter motor is lazy and needs rebuilding.

when i push the start button the relay clicks once but when im playing with th relay it clicks more than once and tries to start. i bought the battery in december but will need to check if it is flat. will it be ok to take the two big red wires off because they are connected to the black bit? and what socket do i plug i into once i have twisted them together? ihavent tried to bridge it as i dont know how to.

is the relay clicking once or is there a series of clicks?and is the battery good and fully charged up as this will make the relay do this if its flat..also if you bridge the two big red wires together that go on the relay does the engine turn over ok?be carefull it will spark a bit when you bridge it.
