Hotpoint First Edition not switching on?

Hi first of all unplug m/c,open the door and remove the band that holds the door rubber or gasket to the front of the m/c,pull the gasket from the door front just enough to get your hand in to hold the door interlock,undo the two screws that hold in the lock then pull the door lock out of the m/c with the wires still connected,if you have replacement lock hold this along side the old one and check that the terminals are marked the same( something like C.L.N) ifso, pull one wire off the old lock and transfer to new lock making sure that they match the right terminal,don,t pull them all off at once. reassemble in reverse order plug in and turn on shut the door,start m/c when it starts to fill just try the door to make sure it is locked ok,turn off m/c wait the 2-3 mins for lock to unlock and open door. job done
