Mend Beko D2731FW D2731fw Dishwasher

Burnt smell inside Beko D2731FW?

Have had dishwasher for 6 years.....washes ok but recently have noticed burnt smell inside when unloading in the morning. Still heating up ok but the element looks blackened.......
Motor or Element any educated guesses would be appreciated before i spend £48 on new element.....
