Help with Veritas R8, tamper light and zone 3?

This did not work, as I said, no buttons on the keypad are working. Can not press anything....could it be the battery

hi caroline now theres a fault with zone 3 but frist of all press reset on the control panel .any family member should help you with this enter 1234 prog 06 and now there should be bleeping some 1 in your house stand at the control panel and you walk past all the sensors and when you find 3 lit up thats your target open the sensor and stretch the spring and replace if the tamper light goes off great if this continues get back to me

but for now let me know how it goes
