How can I stop my Rover 414 losing power after 4 miles?

Check your manifold for a stuck heat riser . It should open with finger pressure. Look down under the manifold for a rocker with a spring. It a flap that funnels hot air from the manifold to the carb. during cold weather. If it sticks it keeps hot gas going into the carb and boils your gas out so you run out of gas with a full tank.
