My Diplomat ADP8322 Integrated Dishwasher is making a funny noise?

It was put on cycle as normal and almost immediately a noise was evident. From sound it appears to be trying to kick-in on the cycle, but never actually progresses beyond this point.

On opening the washer it became evident that water hadn't filtered away and was still lying in the bottom of the unit. I removed the filter and there was nothing evident. I have now removed almost 80% of the water manually. Tried closing the door and re-running the cycle to no avail!
