Mend Peugeot Speedfight Beam Main

How can I fix my Peugeot speedfight ?

Hi my Peugeot speedfight has very dim dipped beam, main beam and tail lights and dosent get much brighter when engine revs increased, I have checked all wiring and all seems good i have checked the voltage at the generator and on tick over I have just under 5 volts is this normal? Can you help.

you need to check the voltage at about 5000 rpm to get an accurate reading.check it accrss the battery it should be between 12-14volts when revving it up.

I think you should be getting 12-13. I would suggest your alternator needs looking at?
