stihl 041 when it gets hot it dies?

I have a stihl 041 av. It runs and cuts great till it gets hot. Then it starts running rough till it dies. Almost impossible to restart, but I need to let it cool then it does it all over again. I found out the intake is on the bottom of the piston, crank side. Then exhaust is on the top. Was also told that the saw housing may have a crack on the intake side and when it gets hot it opens, causing the saw to die. Has anyone heard of this?
