Singer 7444 Thread Take Up Level?

My Thread Take up Level is off track. How can i get it back on track. This is a new machine bought in November/December 2009.

Hello Fran,
If the takeup lever is not perfect then it is quite possible the machine may have been dropped at some point, a bit risky to try and straighten it if the lever is bent because it will snap quite easily, I would advise using the warranty.
