hotpoint WD860 - HOW DO I EMPTY IT?

Error F-05 (pressure/pump empty fault) I am waiting for an engineer (can't come for 6 days) and machine is full of water and washing. I want to salvage the washing before it 'goes bad'. Is there a magic way I can open the door to empty machine? I can tilt it so the water won't run out. It simply will not release the door. There must be a trick somewhere please!!
