How can I fix my TV Thomson 44" Rear Projection?

I have a Thomson 44" Cinema Rear Projection and I have trouble turning the TV on - the standby light just keeps flashing. I have to keep turning the TV on and off at main button to get the TV to come on - there is no response from the remote. The remote functions when the TV is on. Please help - Thankyou
