Mend Renault Clio Turn Starts Checked

clio will not turn over?

my 2000 clio is a bit tempremental it starts some times but other times it won't even turn over have checked soleniod connections .If i put a wire from soleniod to battery + starts every time. the red led on dash is going out so looks like imobliser is coming off ok. any ideas

Drop the steering columb covers and check a live feed is coming from the back of the ignition switch when the switch is in the START position, if there is not one then cahnge the switch, if there is check the feed reaches the starter by following the wire from the ignition switch to starter.
