intruder alarm SL8?

i have just bought a house and it is fitted with a SL8 alarm, the fuse has been taken out of the fuse socket, does anyone know how to get it working again and if i just put a 3 amp fuse back in will the alarm start ringing and i do-not have a code to de-activate it, is there a emergency code to do this and then i can set a new personal code myself. please help , kind regards............

hi gary i have read your post for the SL8 do you know if it has a battery in the control panel or not and is it disconected you will need to purchase a new battery if the old one is flat be as well to change it any way if you get a battery proceed as folows disconect the mains and have a peice of wire ready about 12 inches long telephone wire or alarm wire will do disconect the battery if not done so already and fit the peice of wire in the conector at the botton marked P No 17 if there is a link wire in it take it out for now and conect the other end of the wire to conector marked SET No 27 and conect the battery up only ,and if the alarm goes off put the number 0123 in to stop it if it does not go off dont wory just take the wire link out and refit the link wire or wires that where in there origanaly and fit the cover back on and press reset now the alarm should work on 0123 also fit a 3amp fuse in the mains fuse BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE COVER BE CAREFULL ELECRICITY CAN KILL if you want to change the code number to your own
then PRESS RESET THEN PROG THEN 0123 THEN 8 AND NOW YOU SHOULD HAVE 4 LIGHTS ON 1234 NOW PUT YOUR NEW CODE IN AND PRESS RESET you may have to set the system up to your reqirements but see how it works first ask for more info good luck baz26
