Mend Renault Megane Dynamique Engine

What is wrong with my renault megane?

A flashing 'engine' symbol has appeared on the dashboard of my megane dynamique and it drives a little bit 'lumpy'. Any ideas please?

depending on the year of the car . coil units are now directly onto the spark plugs . they work in paired series, one coil may have gone but this could to 2 misfires. unburnt fuel clogs the cat and this would trigger the warning light.
