How do i do electrical?

I have a older MTD lawn tractor and the ignition switch is shot can i by pass that wiht a button for the starter and a switch (s) for like the lights and another for everything else?

You can do this, however the most important thing is to locate the earth cut out wire for the engine ( it runs straight to the ignition coil ) remove this wire before attempting any by pass, DO NOT inadvertantly send 12 volts down this wire as you will melt the ignition coil.
