Berry Magicoal?

My sister has a Berry Magicoal storage heater, but cannot find the timer on it. Is there one on there? If not, how does the heater know when to turn on and switch off? Also should she keep the power switch on the wall turned on at all times, even in the summer and control the temperature by the input/output controls.
