Mend Hotpoint WMA54 Washing Machine Slipping

tub struggles to go?

I have a hotpoint Aquarius wma54 6kg that was left standing for a year ,I tried to use it but when the tub started to turn it struggled and the belt was slipping.

Thanks but the tension was fine and the belt was new, problem was that the tub was trying to go but it seemed that something was holding the tub back.

check if there is tension adjuster gate by the motor,( the motor will pivot out in a arc ) same principle as adjusting dynamo/alternator belt on a car. if not new belt needed.
also check the motor brushes length and that they are not stuck in their housing
