WHEN USING UPRIGHT AND HOSE ONLY IT IS OK.
BUT WHEN PRESSING THE BASE TO TILT HANDLE IT MAKES A VERY LOUD NOISE

Hi there it sounds like the base plate is touching the belt drive, you can turn upside down remove bottom plate and start machine and move head to check, if its not in contact with any part of the machine. if it looks good then it will be the clutch. best of luck.. answer to clutch replacement already on site..
