how do i fix the plug in part of the vacuum. there is a short in it?

there is a short in the plug in part of the vacuum cleaner. it will start up if you push in to the out let on the wall.

the way i am reading your question is this.
my vacuum starts without me turning it on as soon as i put plug in the wall. if you cannot stop it at the vacuum switch then the on/off switch has gone faulty,spring broke, contact welded together,etc.

the cure REPLACE THE ON/OFF SWITCH
