2000 vauxhall astra bent my key accidentally managed to straighten it engine now turning over but not firing

yup, there should be a small grey/black chip about 6mm x 4mm x 2mm (from memory, havent done one for a while) inside the key.

key may house a transponder for immobiliser.you may have lost or damaged it!
