will not start but Inst Panel all alight?

i had same problem on a 1.6 petrol astra h turned out to be poor connection on engine e.c.u [control unit ] multiplugs , ecu mounted on to of engine with two multiplugs mounted side by side , all i did was remove and fit each multiplug in turn this had the effect of cleaning the contacts , car started straight away , you might think this odd but all the control units are CAN BUS linked, make sure ignition is turned off when you do this , hopefully may fix your problem

Not to sure but there is a small link/shaft from the ign sw to the key/barrel which sometimes breaks on Vauxhalls,you actually don`t say if the engine is turning over on the key,if not then would remove the key/barrel for a look at your link to the switch itself,good luck.
