55 Plate Astra H Est. Had to have recovery out to get keys out of cars as locked in the ignition.
Now car will not start on Key. Another recover guy got it started by putting power direct to starter motor. but still won't start on key. Full instrument panel light come on.
i had same problem on a 1.6 petrol astra h turned out to be poor connection on engine e.c.u [control unit ] multiplugs , ecu mounted on to of engine with two multiplugs mounted side by side , all i did was remove and fit each multiplug in turn this had the effect of cleaning the contacts , car started straight away , you might think this odd but all the control units are CAN BUS linked, make sure ignition is turned off when you do this , hopefully may fix your problem

Not to sure but there is a small link/shaft from the ign sw to the key/barrel which sometimes breaks on Vauxhalls,you actually don`t say if the engine is turning over on the key,if not then would remove the key/barrel for a look at your link to the switch itself,good luck.
