Have what seems to be a water inlet valve problem on my LG intellowasher ?

Have what appears to be a water inlet valve problem on my intellowasher wm1295fhb, fills with water when not in use. Is is worth running a machine cleaning product through the machine, to see if it is just clogged up, before i call an engineer to fix the problem?
