Mend Canon Cartridge Printer Reset

how do I fix it?

I have replaced a blue cartridge with another that has a chip(not Canon) but when I put it in, the empty light stays on (not pulsating) and the light at the on button flashes amber. Ive tried replacing the chip from the old catridge but it made no difference. Ive also tried resetting with no difference, What can I do to resume normal printing?
