Mend Ariston Heating System

ariston microgenus?

my nans heating has stopped working, the pump starts fine and then nothing else, i have removed the front cover to have a look and there is a pipe(same diameter as a car washer pipe)loose inside with a small split in the end, it looks like it should fit somewhere but i cant see where, can anyone help..?

yes it comes out below the burner and the end of the pipe hangs freely by the gas valve
