Since I fitted a new battery to my 1999 peugeot vivacity 50cc scooter it will start up and then die after about 7 minutes. Does anybody have any idea why this is happening?
If the engine starts to smoke.. and slowly gets weaker
within the 7 minutes - the the problem should be the auto-choker.
Auto-choker doesn't switch off.
If the engine sudden shuts off - after the 7 min. - it it must be the
Fuel-tap.
The fuel-tap should witch ON, when the engine is running
(, and the vacuum hose is connected to the inlet, as it should).

Sorry, not an answer but similar problem. Not been able to use vivacity for about a year due to ill health. Husband has started periodically. Now want to use it but battery wouldn't charge, so hubby put another on but now scooter will start but dies after a minute or so. He has cleaned carb and fuel sems to be getting where it should. Has tried the fuel cap bit. Now tearing his hair out.

I have tried the automatic choke and that seems to be the problem.

It slowly cuts out as it starts to boge out and will not start for about 2 hours. I have tried a new carb on it with no difference.

odd? 7 minutes is a weird time to want to die.how does it cut out?is it a very sudden thing or does it slowly start running worse then cut out.is it like some one it turning it off?can you throttle it to keep it going or does throttling it make it worse.give a few answers to these questions and one of us advisors will help you out.
