Eddie - about a couple of cupfuls when I checked before leaving this morning.

good idea ie bucket under for now - hope that not much condensate accumulates/keep eye on-be interesting to know how much u get when u put hot water on / have shower/bath.
ive actually connected to internal plumbing(sink waste)so i dont have it exiting on its own-but not sure if this is legit-but i think the installer said was ok to do-but will need to seek advice if it is so-otherwise why bother putting out on its own to freeze?!
in the future think about getting condensate pipe dia increased to 32mm - thats advice from an installer

Got home last night and the gurgling sound from the boiler was a giveaway. Condensate drain was blocked. As you say, Eddie, I assume the drain is frozen (probably where it goes through the wall into the external rainwater down-pipe). For now, I've removed the pipe from the bottom of the boiler and placed a bucket underneath. I'll wait for the weather to warm up before refitting. I can't see how to prevent this from happening in the future but, fortunately, we dont usually get weather as cold as we have had it for the past week or so (U.K. 8 Jan 2010)

see earlier post 'worcester cdi 40 frozen condensate fixed but ch not working proper' for info on defrosting - i didnt undo screws - used a hairdryer etc - the remaining info within thread may help - download service engineers manual for your boiler as this can be invaluable for diagnosing faults and what to do = check if ur boiler has a central heating boost button

The blue light flashes differently depending on the fault. However, when I had this fault recently it was a blocked condensate syphon. Not a big problem to sort out but a bit fiddly to get to the screws that hold the plastic syphon assembly in place, The pipe coming out of the bottom centre and going into some local waste system is the condensate drain pipe.
Unfortunately my wife has just phoned to say now a different fault. Blue light was flashing but remained steady on reset. However, greeen light ('burner on') will not stay on. Anyone haver any ideas?
