Sime ECOMFORT 30 HE boiler not working?

Sime boilers must be set at minimum 2 bar on the pressure gauge. Most boilers are either 1 or 1.5 however i had this just this morning still flashing AL02 however soon as it was above 2 Hey presto working boiler hope this helps someone in the future.

I had the same problem, checked the user guide and adjust the water pressure to 1.2 bar, but the boiler still not working. I thought I need to do something like restart or reset, but just as Jonathan and Tim said, if it kept saying AL 02,just keep increasing the water pressure higher and higher. My problem solved in 1.6 bar.

hi ive got a sime ecomfort plus 30 he ive got a little drip from the back of the pump casing can anyone tell me if i need whole new pump or just the black plastic housing that the pump moter is attached to and is it a bit of a job to replace it much thanks

Hi, I had the very same problem for years, The boiler would either unexpectedly turn off or would take ages to turn on with the red light coming on, After a few visits by heating engineers who could not solve the problem but still charged £60 plus for each visit I stumbled on the solution whilst refilling the boiler after replacing a radiator, Originally the boiler was filled to 1 bar of water pressure which is the minimum requirement for most boilers, This boiler however will only function properly at a minimum 2 bar water pressure, Since increasing the boiler pressure to 2 bar the boiler has worked perfectly with no problems, I have not tried the heating yet as it's summer time but it certainly looks very promising I have been using the boiler at this new pressure for this new pressure for 3 months and so far the hot water works every time with no issues, I have probably wasted around £200 plus paying for engineers to sort it out to no avail when the solution was simple and did not cost a penny!!!, Will post again during the winter to let you know if the heating is working properly but with the boiler working perfectly on the hot water side of things I don't anticipate a return to the same problems.

I have the exact same problem. I hope SIME have taken this product off the market, its a complete nuisance.

Its strange how many have the same problem but no one can pin point the cause.

We are having same prob.We have homecare inc. with scottish gas and they cant repair it unless it breaks down . They said there could be a few things that is causing it .So in the meantime we are having to put up with no hot water or heating for up to an hour at a time.The boiler is only 3years old but the eng. said it is not that great a boiler and very unreliable.
