Mend Toshiba 32AF200 Remote Problem

How can I fix a power problem with my Standard 32" Toshiba TV?

For a few months now the TV would only turn on with the remote control. Now it doesn't turn on at all. Batteries in the remote are fine and I even tried a universal remote but, it just won't turn on.
