Mend Miele Fabric Conditioner Not

Fabric conditioner draw not draining?

Hi, I have a Miele Premier Novo that is a few years old. The compartment where the fabric conditioner goes is always full of clear water at the end of the wash.

The draw itself as been removed and cleaned.

There is no excessive 'gunk' in the opening where the draw goes, no obvious blockage.

The Conditioner is being used, but the draw is not draining at the end.

Any ideas?

Just had the same problem and found it to be the spray nozzles above the drawing being blocked with black gunk - yuk... poked them out with wire and all seems OK again - I just wish I could get to the other side of those nozzles and give the system a good clean out.

As above, look particularly at the pipe the syphon cap sits on. It may look clear, but if you run water from the tap at pressure back up the tray it will probably chuck out a load of gunk. Have just saved an engineer visit by reading the above tips!

Afer cleaning the removable siphon cap from within the drawer I still had a problem with the draw not completely emptying. I then diluted the fabric softner to the recommended strength and all now works well. Its a case of clear gunk but use 'thin' enough conditioner to allow correct siphoning action.

Another thing you might be looking into is the holes from witch the water is sprayed into the softener compartment. They can fill up with gunk. Strange thing is tho (and I'm talking from my own experience) when two holes plug up water will stay behind in the compartmant. Shouldnt happen logically, but it doas. You can clean them siply by taking a piece of wire and poke through the gunk.

The way these fabric conditioner drawers work is that they are actually a syphon. Inside of the drawer you can see a cylinder that goes almost to the bottom of the drawer. This iss actually a cap that covers a tube that is as high as a max fill level mark inside the compartment. Once the level of the fluid goes above that line the water will overflow into that pipe under the cap and out the bottom of the drawer. It wil continue to flow because of the syphon effect untill all liquid is sucked out. The reason you have clear water in it at the end is, that the syphon is pluged up, so when your washing machine goes into the cycle where it's suposed to ad softener, it starts flowing water into that compartment and because of the blockage, the water together with the conditioner doasnt go out the bottom opening in the drawer instead it overflows the compartment. It still goes down into the washing machine it's just that the drawer never drains the water.
You can usually simply pull off that "cylinder/cap" and clean all the buildup gunk and push it back into position when you're done.
