samsung soul screen?

This happened to my phone yesturday, first I got a weird bit on the top bar of my screen so I turned my phone off and back on and then the screen was completely blank, the touch pad still works though. Apparently its to do with a connection in the phone thats got a break in it and i think the only way to get it working again is to get sent off to samsung to repair it
