Mend Samsung ER-290 Register Manual Change

My Samsung er-290 display says "closed" how do I unlock it?

Samsung er-290 cash register display reads "closed". The manual does not tell you how to change this mode or even mention that it may display the word. The ECR is locked - how do I get it working again?

Hi. Closed means there is no one logged on to use the machine. You need to enter a clerk number. the default sign on is 1 then CLERK button to log person number 1 on. If it doesn't work, someone may have assigned secret numbers to clerks.
