How can i fix my 26" LG?

How can i fix my TV, i can ony use my tv (Menu, volume etc) manually as the remote is no longer recognized, there is nothing wrong with the remote, it is definately the sensor on the tv.

And did whoever checked it for you pass a qualifiction test in electronics? i.e are they an electronics technician also?

I have had it checked and have been told the remote is ok, had the same problem just after we bought the tv and they swapped it but now its happened again but its out of warranty and i wondered if anyone knows how i can sort it myself.
