why didn't my mp3 turn on after i charged it?

after i charged my mp3, i wanted to turn it on but it was not turning on. once i push the on/off button on the side the blue light flicks on and off really fast only once. i call the RCA company and they said the product i have they don't have it and i have to buy a new one
